The system has several channels, saline lagoons and brackish and salt marshes interrupted by extensive intertidal mudflats along the seaward side. – Take a Hike Through Asa Wright Nature Centre: The Asa Wright Nature Centre and Lodge is a nature resort and scientific research station in Trinidad and Tobago’s Arima Valley. – Visit the Temple in the Sea: Located in Waterloo, this Hindu temple was built entirely offshore. Visitors can take a boat out to see the colorful structure and learn about its history. The Temple in the Sea is a Hindu mandir in Waterloo, Carapichaima, Trinidad and Tobago. Sewdass Sadhu built the original temple on the Gulf of Paria in 1952. In 1995, Randal Rampersad rebuilt the temple and reopened it.
